Alzheimer’s Society - Christmas Programme
Thank you for a lovely session of Christmas songs and carols – enjoyed by all today.  Also for the last few sessions.  We appreciate all your hard work and our carers and people with dementia get so much from it.
Donna and Christine, Alzheimer’s Society.

Very many thanks.  This was a real treat for our service users and our staff and volunteers.  Everyone thoroughly enjoyed joining in with the singing - and dancing!  We all look forward to you coming again.  Best wishes to you all.   Elizabeth O’Brien – Chief Executive Officer, Lonsdale Trust

I would like to thank all the lovely people in the Memories Singing Group for their enthusiastic and vibrant performance this afternoon.
Our clients certainly enjoyed it and it was lovely to see bright smiling faces all round.   Several of our clients commented that they thought it was wonderful to hear some old songs again that they had not heard for years.   Everyone joined in, including the staff!
Many of our clients suffer with dementia; singing is a lovely opportunity for them to relax and express themselves, which they find difficult to do in other everyday situations.
We hope you will be able to come and brighten up our day again soon.
Best wishes

All individuals within our day club enjoyed and joined in with the singing group.  One gentleman in particular has gained great confidence when he sings to our other service users.  Staff members appreciate the joy that the group gave our service users.  Thank you.

Thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.  Our client group really enjoyed it.  Most sang along and we would welcome them back anytime

Thank you so much for making our day special.  All individuals sang and many danced.  Memories came flooding back for certain individuals.  A service user who tends not to participate was wide awake smiling and dancing – this has most definitely been a great success for her.  Most of all, thank you for giving ----- (one of the clients) a confidence boost.  Can’t wait for next time.

I just wanted to say how fantastic is what the Memories group is doing!
My mother-in-law died in January after suffering from dementia for several years so it's a cause very close to our hearts, but I can also see how much GIR members are getting out of it too.
Congratulations to all of you and Merry Christmas,
Kate McDonnell

This is the first time I have experienced the Memories singers with our day care client group.  It has been exceptional and has benefited and enhanced the clients’ day.  The clients have thoroughly enjoyed the singing and participated with all the songs.  The feedback has been very positive.
The singers are lovely people who kindly offered us this wonderful experience.  Thank you on behalf of everyone at Pensall House.
Sarah Dolan, Senior Care Coordinator, Pensall House Age Concern Day Care.

Firstly I must express our gratitude for your members giving up their time for our Residents’ benefit, and benefit it really was, our homes were buzzing with laughter and frivolity after your group’s visit.
Our residents in Chapel House and Plessington Court really enjoyed the singing session, your group is “full of life”.  This is just the diversion we all enjoy to lift everyone’s spirits for the afternoon.
I only wish you could visit us again soon.  This is a wonderful initiative and the whole experience was heart warming.
Thank you all
