Memories Singing Group
We are changing our rehearsal arrangements - yet again. The one hour rehearsal slot prior to the Serpentine Friends session is not long enough, so please note that in future the Friends session will be from 2 - 3.45pm. I am at present trying to work out an alternative. As the group of singers is growing we will not be able to fit all the group (full complement 18 singers) in to Juliet's room. I intend to fix up separate rehearsals for the soloists - Barbara, Bet, Joan Studdart, Di, the 2 Ms. That will still leave us with a possibility of 12 singers and 2/3 guitarists for the regular rehearsals, so I may have to split the group in some way. Juliet's room becomes too crowded with more than 7 singers. Kenny has asked that rehearsals are held on a Tuesday morning and they will last for approximately 2 hours. Any suggestions? Do any of you have a very large room we could use, or know of a free (or very cheap) hall?
Our recent bid to Wirral Council for funding was not only successful, but, thanks to the support of Cllr John Salter, we were given more money than we had asked for!
Phone calls have been received from two very happy groups who benefit from what we do: The Manor (BUPA) Care Home in Moreton rang to say that the feedback from their residents about our performance was glowing. The manager at Hilbre Court Care Home in Hoylake thanked us all for our performance at their barbecue. The event raised nearly £600, all of which is being donated to the Alzheimer's Society.
